Strathmore University Law School, Kenya, Wins the WilmerHale Prize in FDI Moot All Africa Regional Competition

WilmerHale is delighted to congratulate Strathmore University Law School, Kenya, for winning first place in the All Africa Regional stage of the 2021 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) International Arbitration Moot, which concluded Monday, August 23. Strathmore Law School received a $1500 prize for its achievement, sponsored by the firm's International Arbitration Practice. London-based international arbitration Partner Steven Finizio and Washington DC–based partner Danielle Morris were honored to serve as arbitrators for the finals and the semi-final rounds.

The FDI Moot is an annual competition which helps future lawyers from around the world attain a practical understanding of the issues that arise out of obligations between host states and foreign investors. The competition is organized by the Center for International Legal Studies in cooperation with academic and arbitral institutions in the United States and Europe.

Strathmore University Law School will now go forward to the global round of the FDI Moot, which will take place in November 2021, alongside the runner up in the All Africa Regional, Kabarak University I, Kenya.
