Working Mother revealed its 13th “Best Law Firms for Women” list today, recognizing firms that utilize best practices in finding, retaining, promoting and developing women lawyers. WilmerHale was among the 60 firms that earned spots on this year’s list and is one of only three Hall of Fame firms recognized for being on the list since its inception.
“Law firms on this year’s list were better prepared to respond to the effects of the pandemic because of their continued support of flextime and remote work for working parents and caregivers,” said Subha V. Barry, president of Working Mother Media. “We are proud to recognize their resilience and steadfast commitment to supporting gender equality.”
The 2020 Working Mother Best Law Firms for Women application, administered by the Working Mother Research Institute, includes more than 300 questions about attorney demographics at different levels, schedule flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women.
WilmerHale’s leaders, including woman co-managing partner Susan Murley, have created a culture where women lawyers at all stages of their careers can succeed. The firm continues to be intentional about developing an inclusive culture and narrowing gender and diversity gaps.
WilmerHale was also recently recognized:
- A “Top Firms for Working Mothers & Family Planning” by Yale Law Women, an organization which seeks to advance the status of women and traditionally underrepresented gender identities at Yale Law School and in the legal profession at large;
- For the seventh consecutive year as one of the “Top 100th Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts”; and
- Received Mansfield 2.0 Certification Plus status for 2019 for its sustained commitment to diversity and inclusion, with a goal to be 3.0 Plus status certified later this year and has renewed to achieve 4.0 certification.
