The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice (LCCR), a Massachusetts-based organization that provides pro bono legal representation to victims of discrimination based on race or national origin, has recognized WilmerHale Associates Jared Cohen and Jeff Olshan for their commitment to public service.

Showcasing the pro bono and civil rights commitments of its members, LCCR will welcome Cohen and Olshan to an elite cohort of award recipients this year as a result of their work on a racial discrimination case brought against the Boston Police Department.

Cohen is an associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department and maintains an active pro bono practice focused on civil rights and indigent defense. He has represented clients in criminal matters and in proceedings in housing and family court and helped achieve the exoneration, release and pardon of an innocent man wrongfully convicted of murder and sentenced to the death penalty in North Carolina.

Olshan, also an associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department, focuses his pro bono practice on immigration and civil rights litigation. Recently, he helped achieve a grant of asylum for a client who had been in removal proceedings for more than a decade without resolution.

Cohen and Olshan will be honored at LCCR's 48th Anniversary reception on June 9 at the Boston College Club in Boston.
