The aviation industry is undergoing profound change as it adapts to the demands of the energy transition. New technologies, regulatory shifts, infrastructure upgrades, and evolving market expectations are driving transformation but also generating complex, high-stakes disputes.

The panel titled “Navigating Energy Transition Risks: Facilitating the Transformation of Aviation,” co-hosted by the Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation and King & Spalding LLP during Paris Arbitration Week, will use aviation as a case study to examine how legal, regulatory, and commercial forces are reshaping entire industries. The session will also explore the role of arbitration and mediation in resolving disputes arising out of the transition – from supply chain disruption and ESG issues to investment and regulatory claims.

Counsel Michael Arada Greenop will speak on the panel alongside Johannes P. Willheim, Partner at Jones Day; Amina Dammann, Partner at King & Spalding; Rüdiger Morbach, Associate at King & Spalding; Gary Birnberg, Chair of the Advisory Board of the Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation; and Camilla Perera - de Wit, Independent arbitrator and mediator and member of the Rules Standing Committee of the Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation.

The event will take place on Monday, April 7, 2025, in the Paris office of King & Spalding LLP.
