On Wednesday, December 11, the Washington International Trade Association (WITA) Academy will host an intensive, half-day seminar on tariffs. This virtual conference will delve into the potential tariff policies of the upcoming Trump Administration, including the promised 60% tariff on goods from China and a 20% tariff on all other US imports.
Partner Neena Shenai will moderate one of the panels, “Tariff and Trade Law Primer: The Legal Basis for Tariffs and Oversight” starting at 9:55 a.m. ET. This session will cover the types of tariffs the Trump Administration may seek to implement, the legal foundation for those tariffs and the corresponding oversight role of Congress.
Registration is open to the public and students, embassy, ministry and government officials from all countries. The full agenda and list of speakers are available here.
