The Privacy + Security Academy’s fall forum brings together seasoned thought leaders in privacy and security law for rigorous deep-dive sessions that deliver practical takeaways. On Thursday, October 24, WilmerHale Partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Artificial Intelligence practice and Cybersecurity and Privacy practice Kirk Nahra will lead a session titled “Why Health Care Privacy is a Mess” from 10:10-11:10 a.m. During this session, Kirk will discuss the increasing complexity of the health care privacy field and how this growing complexity threatens the overall operation of the health care system. 

On Friday, October 25, WilmerHale Senior Associate Ali Jessani and Associate Sam Kane will join a panel titled “State of the States: Privacy Law Edition” from 10:10–11:10 a.m. This session will provide valuable insights on recent enactments of state comprehensive privacy laws and the increase of privacy-related state enforcement actions. The panelists will discuss these trends, as well as how companies can best prepare themselves to mitigate relevant compliance risks.
